The season is on!

I watched the Rock game tonight, and wrote a little about it here.

Todd told me he was not going to miss the deadline this year. Oh well. I knew I should have told him to go pick his team after he got knocked out of the poker game.

Interesting facts about the teams this year:

• Unique players: Jeff (4), Faisal (4), Lynda (3), Kerri (3), ... Graeme (0)
• Most players from an NLL team: Toronto (9), Rochester (8), San Jose (8), ... Portland (3), Edmonton (3)
• Jeff and Kerri are the only people to have picked more west division players than east
• Everyone has at least one Rock player, at least one Bandit, and at least one Roughneck. Other popular NLL teams: Blazers (only Lynda didn't pick any), Rochester (only Jeff), Colorado (only Steve), San Jose (only Faisal).
• Most players from one NLL team: 6 (Knighthawks on Mike's team, no shock there)
• Only two wild card players were picked by more than two teams: Tracey Kelusky and Steve Toll
• Seven wild card players had 0 points last year (Conn, Duch, Gait, Greenhalgh, Henhawk, Rabil, Veltman)
• Groups were a little more evenly split than previous years. Most popular: Shawn Evans in group 6, Ryan Benesch in group 9, Kaleb Toth in group 14, and Gee Nash in group 17. In each case, two teams did not pick them.
